Continuing to execute people for crimes committed as children, against international bans

Iran remains one of the few countries that executes people for offences committed under 18. Amnesty and Iran Human Rights documented multiple such executions in 2023 and 2024, including cases of defendants who were children at the time of the alleged crime. The judiciary Khamenei oversees still allows these sentences under qisas and related provisions.
